Generic Requirements for SAPS Truck Driver Vacancies

Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements to be considered:

• South African citizen

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or NCV (NQF Level 4)

• Fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English

• Valid driver’s licence

• No criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases

• No visible tattoos when wearing SAPS uniform

• Willing to undergo SAPS vetting, fingerprint verification, and security screening

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure and extended hours

Additional Post-Specific Requirements

In addition to the generic SAPS requirements, applicants must have:

• A minimum of 3 to 4 years’ driving experience

• Valid Code EB, C1, C, EC1 and EC driver’s licences

• A valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
